=== 98年度 ===
*糖業文化在研究上具有高度的意義與價值，雖然今日糖業已經沒落，但藉著探索蔗糖產業在地方所遺留的珍貴資產，我們可見證地方與文化的關係。本計畫今年度完成[[數位化]]之糖業文化物件約為1250件，包括「老照片」及「實物」二類。這些已完成之數位化資料，可以還原日治時期糖廠景觀配置和建築形式、虎尾街區的發展與變遷，具有學術應用與景觀研究之價值。
*Sugar industry culture possesses great value and significance. Although the sugar industry has already fallen into decline, by exploring the valuable regional assets left behind by this industry, we stand as witnesses to the relationship between communities and culture. Digitization of roughly 1, 250 relics of the sugar industry has been completed this year, including digitization of “old photos” and “physical objects.” The data already digitized shows the layout and architectural form of sugar factories during the Japanese Colonial Period, as well as developments and changes in the Huwei old street district. This data is valuable for both academic use and landscape or area research.

*虎尾糖廠中的「糖業文物館」，蒐集許多早期的製糖設備和珍貴照片，述說台灣糖業的發展演變事蹟；再者，虎尾在地有多位糖廠退休之耆老，對眾多珍貴的文物具有指認和詮釋的能力。為了保存台灣糖業文化，本團隊與地方文史工作者和耆老合作，針對數位化的物件進行資料詮釋，進而開發「糖業文物館」[[數位典藏]]資料庫系統， 提供大眾認識糖業文化知識的平台。
